ORRVILLE, OH - Staring today, visitors to Aultman Orrville Hospital's web site at www.dunlaphospital.org can expect a new look, along with increased functionality and utility.
"It's been a while since our site was updated," said Andreas Ellis, Aultman Orrville's Vice President of Marketing and Development. "It had a very '2004' look to it, and since it was implemented, new technology has come along that allowed us to add some new features. So when the new year came along, we decided it was time for a change."
Ellis explained that the new site was programmed using current web coding techniques for a more efficient design. Visually the site has a more modern look with better navigation that concentrates on the user's experience. These include an up-to-date Physicians area that users may browse by department or search by the physician's last name, and a site map and search function that make it easy to find information anywhere on the site.
"There's a Health Information area on the front page where visitors can get answers and information on health issues," she added. "But I suspect the most popular area will be our new Baby Photo area. This is where our maternity unit will post photos of newborn infants and supply new mothers with a password to access the gallery and share it with their family and friends."
The site is also linked to the Orrville Hospital Foundation and there are some "under the hood" elements including a statistics tracking system that will allow Aultman Orrville to make frequent updates and guide future improvements as user needs evolve.
"The goal of this site is to provide better access to information for patients and the community, and give them better awareness of our services," Ellis said.
