Orrville Courses Ready Youth to Stay Home Alone, Babysit

Aultman College Corporate and Community Education (ACCE) is hosting two classes at Aultman Orrville Hospital to help give tweens the skills and know-how to stay home alone.

Safe Sitter will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. This class helps teach students in grades 6 – 8 how to watch younger siblings or babysit. Instructors will teach safety and first aid skills and impart business know-how such as screening babysitting jobs and discussing fees. The class costs $55.

Safe@Home will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at 10 a.m. The instructors will help prepare students in grades 4 – 6 to be safe when they are home alone. Topics covered include how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or bad weather. The class costs $15.
