Aultman Orrville Hospital offers cardiac rehabilitation phase II. (We no longer offer phase III at AOH.) Phase II begins after patient is discharged from the hospital and lasts for 8-12 weeks. 

Cardiac rehabilitation enrollment is by physician referral only. Most insurances will cover cardiac rehab phase II after the following diagnosis/procedures: heart attack (within the past 12 months), coronary bypass surgery, valve surgery, angioplasty/stents, stable angina and heart failure. Please check with your insurance company regarding coverage.

Studies have shown that cardiac rehab is an important step in resuming a full and active lifestyle for people with heart disease. The benefits include improved cardiovascular function, improved fitness level, smoking cessation, stress management, developing a regular exercise routine, blood pressure control, increased knowledge of nutrition and heart health, reduced fear and anxiety related to your heart condition, and an increased sense of wellbeing.
